Dress Guidelines and Suggestions

  • BALLET:
    Youth/Teen – Tights or leggings with a leotard or fitted t-shirt/long sleeve that allows the instructor to see body alignment and movements clearly. Ballet shoes recommended.
    Adult – Tights, leggings, or form-fitting athletic pants and a top that allows for free movement while showing the body’s alignment and movement. Ballet shoes or socks recommended.
  • BALLET CONTEMPORARY COMBO:
    Youth/Teen – Tights or leggings, or athletic pants with a leotard or fitted t-shirt/long sleeve that allows the instructor to see body alignment and movements clearly. Ballet shoes recommended with some dancing barefoot.
  • CONTEMPORARY/IMPROV:
    Youth/Teen – Tights, leggings, or athletic pants with a fitted t-shirt/long sleeve that allows the instructor to see body alignment and movements clearly. Socks or barefoot based on instructor recommendation. Knee pads for teenagers may be useful in certain classes.
    Adult – Leggings, or athletic pants with a fitted t-shirt/long sleeve that allows the instructor to see body alignment and movements clearly. Socks or barefoot based on instructor recommendation. Knee pads may be useful in certain classes.
  • CREATIVE MOVEMENT:
    Tights, leggings, or athletic pants with a leotard or fitted t-shirt/long sleeve that allows the instructor to see body alignment and movements clearly.
    Ballet shoes recommended.
  • HIP-HOP AND HIPPIN’ & FLIPPIN’:
    Youth/Teen – Athletic pants or shorts with a t-shirt/long sleeve that allows for comfortable movement. Tennis shoes or sneakers recommended but must be a white or grey sole and reserved for indoor use only. No outdoor shoes permitted.
    Adult – Athletic pants or shorts with a t-shirt/long sleeve that allows for comfortable movement. Tennis shoes or sneakers recommended but must be a white or grey sole and reserved for indoor use only. No outdoor shoes permitted.
